Can Alligator gar keep the invasion of asian carp in check?  Several states seem to think so. Check out the link here.

This ancient predatory fish has been around for a long time.  They were massacred throughout the last century because they were thought to be a nuisance and were also considered a trash fish.  They were also thought to destroy the populations of popular game fish species such as bass and crappie.   A few states along the Mississippi river think that the Alligator gar can be the new line of defense.
