This fly can also be found in George Daniel’s book “Strip Set”. I originally made this fly as a smallmouth pattern for fishing our SW MO smallmouth bass streams. It has since become a Carp favorite as well as a great trout fly. the legs are tied over the back of the fly as a wing. They help elevate the tail of the fly acting as a small crayfish in an attack/defensive position. Give this fly a go the next time you are out and crayfish are about!
